On August 28th, 2020 the world was in shock when it was announced that Chadwick Boseman had died at the age of 43 due to colon cancer. Probably best known for playing T’Challa the Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Boseman also played Jackie Robinson in the biopic film 42 in 2013 and James Brown in Get on Up in 2014.

Originally diagnosed in 2016 with stage III colon cancer in 2016 Boseman’s death came as a surprise to many due to him keeping it secret the entire time and continuing to work steadily between his treatments which included surgeries and chemotherapy sessions, working on a total of seven movies between his cancer diagnosis and death.

Since his death many tributes have been posted across social media and online by friends, family, and fans. As part of their tributes to Boseman the Walt Disney Co. had ABC air a special ad-free presentation of Black Panther the Sunday following his death while Marvel released a short video tribute to him

At 4 minutes and 43 seconds in length the tribute video consists of behind the scenes footage of Boseman on set on Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, and Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame intermixed with footage from promotional appearances and short talking head interviews with cast and crew praising Boseman’s abilities and ending with the words “You will always be our king.”

RIP in Chadwick.
