I’m writing this and in my mind I’m just thinking “fuck.” Registration for the 2018 San Diego Comic Con just passed and once again I’m shit out of luck. That fucking lottery.

Ever since I won those tickets back in 2015 I have just been so desperate to go again and this is part of the reason why I started this blog. I not only wanted to create an online portfolio to go along with my resume for when I was job hunting but I also wanted to have a way to be able to apply for media credentials for things.

If you want to look at this on a positive note not being able to get tickets for San Diego Comic Con has reinvigorated me to do the best that I can with this blog so I that I may some day be able to apply for media credentials or even have somebody sponsor me to go along with them for something. Hopefully this inspiration lasts and helps me crank out more content as well as helps me get all the other stuff done that needs doing with my site.

Once again I’m thinking I’m so late with this post, but I’m also thinking there’s a bit of advantage of waiting. Part of waiting a little stuff goes on social media and I can use go through social media posts to find the people behind the costumes and get more info about them so that way I’m not going through my pictures blind and just bullshitting my write ups about them. I also think being late gives me time to do a better job at this which is something I want to do. I want to do a good job with this. I don’t want to be a halfass blogger who does rush jobs all the time.

Like I said these are just thoughts, but it’s time for enough thinking and more pictures. Here are the rest of my cosplay photos from Stan Lee’s 2017 Los Angeles Comic Con. I hope you like them.

Here’s Asajj Ventress from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. After a closer look it appears that her lightsabers are homemade and I have to give her props for that.

Layla Carter as Slave Princess Leia.

Here’s a family cosplaying as Star Wars characters. The dad’s costume looks like he wasn’t trying compared to the rest of his family. I mean all he has is a black shirt and black pants. He told me he originally had a lightsaber but the weapon checkers confiscated it.

Princess Kitana from the 2011 Mortal Kombat game.

Catwoman circa Batman Returns. I like how she modeled her costume towards the 2nd half of the movie where Catwoman had it torn up a bit after a few fights with Batman and the Penguin.

Joanie Brosas as Rey.

Shenay Stellar in the OG Pink Ranger costume.

Korben Dallas and Leeloo from The Fifth Element.

Here’s professional cosplayer and special guest Vivid Vivka in a crazy witch costume. She is really cool and really nice. I really hope I can bump into her again later.

Here’s Alicia Marie as Slave Princess Leia. My pictures do not do her justice because she is super ripped.

A Samurai Spider-Man. Judging by how his costume came out it looks like he based it on the Tamashii Nations figure.

Here’s Tara Cosplay as what she calls Autumn Poison Ivy.

Maid of Might as Spider-Gwen. I just realized this is the same exact pose she did for me at Long Beach Comic Con.

This guy’s Thor is pretty legit. To an untrained eye he could probably pass for Chris Hemsworth.

Hela from Thor: Ragnarok. It would be really cool if the green accents glow in the dark.

Naked Snake from Metal Gear Solid 3.

Finn from Force Awakens. I wonder where he got that jacket. I kind of want one.

Here’s another Leeloo, this one with a multipass.

Psylocke from X-Men. The psychic knife is a good prop. The color-matched nail polish was also a good touch.

Most of the stuff on this guy’s Hobgoblin looks store bought but he looks pretty legit.

Dr. Octopus and Mysterio. I asked her how Mysterio could see through the fish bowl and they told me it’s opaque on the inside.

Here’s a group of Rick and Morty cosplayers. I’m not sure if they came to the con together or were just some random people who started posing for photos together because they were all wearing similar costumes. From left to right we have: Jaguar, Evil Morty, Rick, Beth, Summer, and a Cromulon.

Here are some Mad Max: Fury Road cosplayers. Gotta give it up to this guy for having the dedication to be willing to carry both a mannequin on his shoulders and being strapped to the car door. I’m sure they’re both pretty lightweight but still gotta give it up to him.

Another Leeloo, this one wearing that bandage costume. I wonder if she looks upset because she’s pissed she’s essentially walking around in her underwear.

Captain Hook and Peter Pan.

Here’s a Maleficent. Looks like instead of painting her hands she’s wearing gloves. Although I’m impressed she put fake nails on the fingertips of the gloves.

Here are some Judges from the 2012 Dredd movie. The middle Judge’s helmet should have added a little more wear to it so he could match his buddies and also for a little more detail.

A Playboy Bunny twist on Tracer from Overwatch.

Here’s a Pickle Rick. The arm blades were a good touch but overall I don’t think it’s quite as good as some of ones I saw in New York.

Daenerys Targaryen circa season 7 of Game of Thrones. I wish I got a picture of the back of her head because she had the same intricate braids in her hair as Emilia Clarke has in the show.

Here’s a Predator. I like how the mask looks like the Berserker Predator’s mask from the 2010 Predators film. The bandolier made out of skulls is a good accessory but in my opnion his costume could use a few more accessories.

Here’s another Peewee Herman fan who made his own replica of the bike from PeeWee’s Big Adventure. He brought it with him so he could get Paul Reuben’s autograph. Big props to the guy for being willing to carry it around with him for the rest of the day. I probably should have waited for the Slave Harley Quinn to get out of the way but at this point I was tired and wanted to make sure I had time to snap as many pictures as possible.

After PeeWee I figured I might as well get some pics of Slave Harley Quinn. She had a lot of tattooing in some naughty places which were really good details for her costume. I was a bit tempted to get pics of some of these tats but I didn’t want to seem too pervy.

Edna Mode from the Incredibles.

Another Hela from Thor: Ragnarok. I’ll give her props for the big headdress but honestly given how big it is it must have been a pain in the ass for her to walk around in. I’m a little disappointed in myself in how this picture came out so over exposed. I’m not sure what happened. I was trying to make sure I was maximizing the lighting in the convention center but I guess I was just standing in a bad spot.

Here’s a chick dressed as Stripperella. I remember hearing about this cartoon which was on Spike/TNN way back in like 2003. At the time I didn’t have cable so I wasn’t able to watch it. At first glance I didn’t recognize her costume and so I had to ask her what she was. I chalk this up to not being able to watch it when it was on. Although considering how short-lived this cartoon was she admitted she wasn’t surprised that not too many people remember it.

A Elsa from Frozen/Slave Princess Leia mashup.

Super Saiyin Vegeta from Dragonball Z. I’m not really digging the bodysuit. It’s an accurate costume that Vegeta wore it just weirds me out a bit. He really should have done the body armor, although I understand that making the body armor would be a pain in the ass. The drawn in eye brow furrow was a pretty original.

Ending this with this pair dressed as Jessica and Roger Rabbit.

With this done it’ll be a while till my next convention. Until then I really need to figure out what kind of content I can pull out of my ass for my Travels sections. I’m debating using car show stuff for it but I’m a bit on the fence about going that route right now.

Hopefully I can find something soon. Until then, thanks a lot for reading this and putting up with my rants.
