I believe the first time I learned about Alex Ross it was from an old issue of Wizard magazine. At the time I had just gotten into reading comic books and I was doing everything I could to get as deep as possible into that scene so I had become an avid reader of Wizard and I remember they did a story on the DC miniseries Kingdom Come featuring some of the artwork Ross did on it.

With San Diego Comic Con as big as it was I was expecting to see a lot of well-known comicbook artists there-either set up with a table in artist alley or with a booth. When I saw the setup Ross had I was blown away-he didn’t have a table or a booth, he had a full-blown art gallery setup with works for sale.

Considering Ross’s work I’m not surprised he had that kind of setup at Comic Con. Ross doesn’t draw so much as he paints and his work is just freaking amazing. I really wish I had the room and the cash because I wouldn’t mind buying some of his work to hang up in my house.

Oh another goal I need to work towards, another dream I need to make a reality. Until then enjoy the pictures of the work I photographed. Sorry if some of the stuff is missing titles, not all the pieces had title cards next to them.

Here are some of the smaller paintings that didn’t have title cards on them.

And here are the really big pieces that would look really great on my living room wall if only I could afford them.
