If you’ve ever seen any of my social media feeds you’ll see that I am really into Corgis. I don’t know why but I just think they’re so awesome. Maybe it’s their stumpy legs and their derpy faces. Maybe it’s because they’re the current fad dog right now. Maybe it’s because I haven’t had a dog since I was a kid and because of the way I live a small dog like a Corgi is the best type of dog for my house. Whatever the case is I am just really into Corgis.<\/p>\n

Anyway, So Cal Corgi Beach Day is an event that’s I’ve been going to for about the last year and a half or so. The group who puts these on is the So Cal Corgi Nation and they usually have 3 a year, 1 for Spring, 1 for Summer, and 1 for Fall. Usually the Spring and Fall events are held at the Huntington Beach Dog Park while the Summer event is held up in Long Beach due to Huntington Beach being unavailable for other Summer events.<\/p>\n

This was the first So Cal Corgi Beach Day I’ve attended in a while and holy crap it has really blown up. I was so surprised by how many people, and dogs, and vendors were present at this 1 compared to past events I’ve attended. I shouldn’t be surprised, I mean every time they have 1 of these things it usually gets a lot of attention from Buzzfeed, and the local news outlets, and also because so many Corgi owners have set up Instagram profiles and Facebook pages for their dogs and they spam the hell out of this so it was bound to happen eventually.<\/p>\n

I was only there for maybe an hour or 2 but considering all the dogs and people who showed up and also all that was going on I took a crap ton of photos. Check them out below.<\/p>\n

My pictures don’t truly capture how big this event. When I first started going to these things they probably only had a third the number of vendors they have now and probably 75-80% of the amount of people who show up now.<\/p>\n

Even though the majority of Corgis were Pembroke Welsh Corgis there were also a few Cardigan Welsh Corgis on site.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There were also several non Corgi breeds as well.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As one of he major sponsors and beneficiaries of the event, Queen’s Best Stumpy Rescue, a dog shelter that specializes with Corgis and Corgi mixes was making sure that they were making their presence known.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

With all the Corgis on site there was no shortage of derpiness.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Or of tongues.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And momos.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And splooting.<\/p>\n

Lot of corgis showed up dressed up.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Skirts were a popular choice.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As were bandanas<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As were Hawaiian shirts and leis.<\/p>\n

And others dressed in costumes.<\/p>\n

This one dressed as a turtle is named Snorlax.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here’s 1\/2 of Biscuit and Waffles the Corgis. I don’t remember which 1 this is.<\/p>\n

With the sun shining down in full-force it was important that everybody wear proper eyewear.<\/p>\n

The future’s so bright I gotta wear shades.<\/p>\n

It was also important that proper headwear be worn too.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Since Corgis have such stumpy legs a few of them were being carried.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

You can tell by the look on his face that he is babied too much.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Since this 1 had so much energy from being carried around it channeled all that extra energy into derping.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

When I saw this white guy running around I thought he was Winston the White Corgi one of the more social media famous Corgis who was supposed to be making a special appearance after moving to the East Coast last year, but it turns out it wasn’t him. Winston did eventually make show up but unfortunately I wasn’t able to catch him.<\/p>\n

This guy was my favorite Corgi of the day. i think it’s because he reminds me of a little bunny.<\/p>\n

Of all the things I try to go to, So Cal Corgi Beach Day is probably one of my favorite
