I’m not really sure what else I could say about Alex Ross that I didn’t say when I went over his booth at Comic Con 2019<\/a>. Ross’s style is said employ a combination of gouache and wash, and is said to exhibit “a Norman Rockwell-meets George Perez vibe.” I’ll admit, when I first got into comic books I was a little turned off by his style because it was so different than what I was used to reading. As you can tell by the header image, Alex Ross does not skimp on the details and realism and I’m pretty sure most people who aren’t familiar with his work would assume they’re just heavily edited photographs rather than paintings.<\/p>\n

If you’ve seen my past art posts you’ll know I try to add identifiers to my images when possible rather than just throwing them up like some lazy amateur. Unfortunately, Ross’s booth\/gallery didn’t have labels with the pieces. Luckily for me, prints of most of the pieces that were on display were on sale or at least still listed on Ross’s website. The few pieces that weren’t listed on his site I was still able to find with a few quick Google searches.<\/p>\n
